About the School The school is a mixed, non‑selective Church of England academy for students aged 11 to 18. Around 1,100–1,200 students are currently enrolled, with capacity up to 1,250. Rated “Good” by Ofsted (inspection February 2023). Dedicated SEN /SEND Base supporting students with EHCPs and learning difficulties. A strong community ethos and commitment to helping all students fulfil their potential academically, socially, and personally. The Role – SEN Learning Support Assistant You will be based in the school’s SEN base, providing vital support to students with EHCPs, learning difficulties, or other SEN needs. Responsibilities include: Supporting students to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. Collaborating with teaching staff and the SENCo to deliver interventions and personalised support. Promoting independence, well-being, and confidence among students. Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Person Specification We are seeking candidates who: Have experience supporting SEN students, ideally in a school setting, though relevant transferable experience is considered. Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience when working with young people with additional needs. Are committed to the principles of inclusive education and supporting student development.
