An IPS Employment Specialist supports people with mental health needs to move into sustainable paid employment. Working within a Community Mental Health Team, you will deliver the Individual Placement & Support (IPS) model, offering personalised employment advice and building strong relationships with local employers.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of around 20 clients with mental health support needs.
Use the IPS approach to help clients identify skills, goals, and suitable job opportunities.
Support clients with CVs, job applications, interviews, and ongoing in‑work support.
Engage employers to source vacancies, promote the service, and create tailored job opportunities (including job carving).
Work collaboratively with clinical teams, colleges, and external agencies to support client progression.
Provide regular monitoring, workplace visits, and sustained employment support. What You'll Need
Degree‑level education or equivalent experience.
Understanding of the employment challenges faced by people with health conditions.
Experience supporting individuals in health, social care, or community settings.
Strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to work independently.
Full driving licence and access to a car.
IPS training is desirable (training can be provided).
