Financial Accountant - Growing OrganisationAn opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to take ownership of external and internal reporting, governance, and technical accounting across a complex, multi entity business.This is a senior finance role with responsibility for group reporting, statutory accounts, tax compliance, and technical accounting standards, while acting as a subject matter expert to the wider finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring strong financial control, regulatory compliance, and high quality reporting to senior stakeholders.
The Role
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual group reporting submissions, including KPI reporting.
* Deliver group reporting under IFRS and ensure consistency with accounting policies.
* Prepare completion accounts for acquired businesses.
* Act as the technical accounting subject expert, supporting the wider finance team on standards and policy interpretation.
* Own statutory reporting requirements, including year end accounts and audit support.
* Prepare quarterly and annual corporation tax calculations and submissions.
* Maintain a robust tax risk register.
* Manage R&D tax credit claims and capital allowance reviews.
* Prepare indirect tax returns, including VAT and other sector specific duties.
* Support the annual budgeting process, with particular focus on group reporting requirements.
* Ensure strong governance, risk management, and control frameworks are in place.
* Produce group level KPI and performance reports.
* Build effective working relationships with senior leaders and cross functional teams.
* Support, guide, and mentor finance colleagues as required.
* Contribute to finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
* Support key finance projects across the business where needed.
Requirements
* Qualified accountant
* Strong experience in statutory reporting, group reporting, and technical accounting.
* Solid knowledge of UK tax, VAT, and regulatory reporting.
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
* Detail driven, commercially aware, and comfortable managing complexity.
* Proactive mindset with a focus on governance, risk, and continuous improvement.
