Teach Now Recruitment is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 in-class support for a 7-year-old pupil in Year 3 with brittle bone disease (osteogenesis imperfecta). About the Role • Provide personalised 1:1 support throughout the school day, ensuring the pupil can participate safely in learning and play. • Support with transfers and mobility using specialist equipment (mobile hoist, adaptive toilet with electronic hoist and sling, changing bed, and wheelchair). • Carry out manual handling and hoisting confidently, always working as part of a two-person team. • Encourage independence, inclusion, and engagement in classroom and social activities. • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider staff team to adapt tasks, promote access to learning, and ensure consistent care. • When appropriate, assist other pupils in the classroom to maintain smooth learning flow. About You • Experienced in supporting children with physical or medical needs. • Confident in hoist use and manual handling (practical experience essential). • Patient, proactive, and able to remain calm under pressure. • Committed to inclusion, safety, and student wellbeing.
