Overview
We are seeking a committed and motivated Medical Education Co‑ordinator to act as a key link between the Medical School, Trust, consultants and students regarding placements, timetables, allocations and assessments.
Responsibilities
* Act as a key link between the Medical School, Trust, consultants and students regarding placements, timetables, allocations and assessments; maintain accurate student records; distribute and collate ward and community timetables; ensure information is shared with the Medical School.
* Coordinate student inductions, including production of timetables, information packs and booking venues/tutors.
* Support the delivery of teaching programmes by liaising with clinical staff, arranging cover for changes and supporting online teaching.
* Support students with welfare and day‑to‑day issues, assist in teaching sessions and induction activities, and ensure facilities and IT access are in place.
* Participate in team meetings, training and professional development to support the delivery of undergraduate medical education across the Trust.
* Support administrative functions for the provision of Continuing Professional Development (CPD): act as a point of contact, facilitate access to CPD opportunities and funding, arrange internal and external CPD events, process applications and maintain accurate funding records.
* Act as the main point of contact for medical and PA student placements; coordinate communication across the Trust, universities and clinical teams; plan and manage teaching programmes, including student timetables, inductions, assessments and placements for 15–20 students across multiple cohorts annually, ensuring alignment with trainer availability and service demands.
* Organise teaching sessions, exams, inductions and placement logistics, and ensure multiple placements run smoothly at the same time.
* Liaise with university partners to confirm allocations and placement details, and maintain accurate student records including attendance, feedback and timetable changes.
* Provide guidance and support to students, managing queries and escalating welfare or professionalism concerns where appropriate.
* Analyse student feedback and evaluation data to identify trends and support continuous improvement.
* Develop effective working relationships with consultants, ward teams and academic partners; support reporting, audits and ensure compliance with Information Governance.
