Job Summary
RecQuest is proud to be supporting a highly respected and well-established law firm in their search for experienced and driven Criminal Solicitors to join their dynamic team operating across Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a solid foundation in criminal law who are passionate about delivering high-quality legal representation. Duty Solicitor accreditation is highly desirable, though not essential. Key Responsibilities As part of the criminal law team, you will be responsible for: Providing expert legal advice and representation to clients at police stations, Magistrates’ Courts, Crown Courts, and other relevant tribunals. Managing a varied caseload, conducting in-depth legal research, and analysing case facts and legislation. Preparing legal documentation including client correspondence, witness statements, and court pleadings. Leading case preparation efforts, including evidence gathering, witness interviews, and liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service. Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders across the criminal justice system. Participating in the local Duty Solicitor scheme and contributing to the firm’s out-of-hours rota, offering on-call support when required. Ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and internal protocols, including accurate record-keeping and confidentiality. Candidate Requirements To be considered for this role, candidates should ideally possess: Duty Solicitor accreditation (essential) A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as travel to courts and client meetings is essential.
