The role:
The Senior Legal Assistant will work closely with other Senior Legal Assistants within the team and provide cover as necessary.
They will be supported by the document production team, which produces letters and documents through manual transcription, digital dictation, and voice recognition.
Client contact is part of the role, and the candidate should be able to handle client enquiries effectively, staying up-to-date with matters in their area(s).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform all necessary typing/word-processing accurately and within deadlines at the Stamford office.
* Support the Commercial Property Department and undertake work across all areas of the company, providing cover to other Senior Legal Assistants as directed by the Team Leader.
* Maintain high levels of client and company confidentiality.
* Transcribe information from manual documents or audio.
* Support other offices where capacity allows, as directed by the Team Leader.
* Take telephone calls on behalf of fee earners and convey messages promptly.
* Arrange appointments as required.
* Keep work up-to-date, prioritizing urgent tasks.
* Ensure efficient information recording on the appropriate file management system.
* Create and maintain accurate records.
* Work flexibly and as part of a team.
Hours of Work: 9.00 am – 5.15 pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: £24,650
Person Specification:
Qualifications: Secretarial qualification, equivalent experience, or a Law Graduate.
Knowledge: Clear understanding of confidentiality/Data Protection, proficient in Microsoft Office, understanding of Commercial Property work, experience with SOS Connect, and knowledge across different areas of law.
Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, well-organized with an excellent telephone manner, accurate and efficient, typing speed of at least 50 WPM, proactive and tactful, supportive, and highly efficient.
Attributes: Eager to learn quickly across various legal areas including Commercial Property, Private Client, Employment Law, and Corporate Law; positive attitude and enthusiasm; flexible with company demands.
