We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Counter Assistant to join our team at a busy independent pharmacy. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our customers and play a key role in delivering excellent service, supporting the dispensary team, and helping to maintain the smooth running of the pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Greeting and assisting customers in a professional and courteous manner
* Handling sales of over-the-counter medicines and other products
* Providing information on pharmacy services and minor ailments (under pharmacist supervision)
* Answering phone calls and responding to customer queries
* Stocking shelves, checking expiry dates, and keeping the shop area clean and tidy
* Supporting the dispensary team with general tasks as required
* Following health and safety guidelines, data protection, and pharmacy regulations
Requirements:
* Previous pharmacy experience essential - minimum 1 year (Please note: *NO VISA SPONSORSHIP AVAILABLE*)
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* A polite, helpful, and professional manner
* Basic IT skills and the ability to use till systems
* Willingness to learn and undertake training (e.g. accredited Medicines Counter Assistant course)
* Ability to work well as part of a team and under pressure
