The Role
As anApplication Support Engineer,you’ll play a critical role in delivering an outstanding customer experience by ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of business-critical software applications. Acting as a technical escalation point, you will support clients, troubleshoot complex issues, and work closely with development, service delivery, and customer operations teams to ensure seamless application performance in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
Application Support Engineer – Key Responsibilities
* Deliver prompt and effective technical support to customers via phone, email, and ticketing systems
* Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application issues, identifying root causes to minimise downtime
* Maintain a strong understanding of application functionality, architecture, and integration points
* Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Escalate and prioritise bugs, incidents, and enhancement requests in collaboration with development teams
* Run SQL queries to investigate issues and support data-driven decision making
* Provide guidance and training to customers to help them maximise value from the software
Application Support Engineer – Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in anApplication Supportor Technical Support role
* Working knowledge ofMS SQL databasesand ability to run investigative queries
* Familiarity with incident management tools, ticketing systems, and SLA-driven environments
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
* Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices
* ITIL certification or working knowledge (desirable)
