About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will provide essential guidance, encouragement, and tailored strategies to support students who may face behavioural, emotional, or social challenges.
Responsibilities:
Support students in managing and improving their behaviour through targeted interventions.
Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and creating an inclusive learning environment.
Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions to promote emotional wellbeing and positive social skills.
Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
Foster resilience, self-confidence, and motivation in students.
Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to encourage collaboration.
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and senior leaders.
Help develop personalised support plans and contribute to regular review meetings.
Encourage students to achieve personal and academic goals, ensuring equal access to learning.
Requirements:
CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (or equivalent qualifications).
Previous experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs is preferable but new applicants are also encouraged.
Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and restorative approaches.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and empathetic under pressure.
A genuine passion for supporting children’s education and wellbeing.
