Junior Software/Hardware IT Technician (Permanent role) Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne Salary: Up to £27,000 (DOE) Travel: Occasional national travel may be required (all expenses covered) Office-Based: With potential for travel to client sites as required About the Role A fantastic opportunity has opened up for a Junior Technician to join a forward-thinking and fast-growing team based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to support the quality control, configuration, and deployment of digital solutions—helping to deliver innovative projects to clients across the UK. This is a perfect entry-level opportunity for someone who wants to grow both technically and professionally, with exposure to both hardware and software systems in a creative and collaborative environment. There is a clear path for progression, with intensive training and hands-on support provided to help you develop quickly into a more senior technical role. Key Responsibilities Quality Control & Assurance • Assist with quality checks on digital signage hardware and software • Help create and follow quality control checklists based on project requirements • Review supplier test reports and highlight any issues • Report discrepancies to senior engineers to ensure product excellence Technical Support & Configuration • Support the setup and configuration of hardware • Provide first-line troubleshooting (with support from senior team members) • Assist in developing user manuals and technical documentation Project & Customer Support • Support the coordination of installations, scheduling, and logistics • Join the sales team in preparing for product demos and client meetings • Assist with remote and on-site installations under supervision • Help deliver customer training and technical support About You We’re looking for someone who is: • Technically minded with a strong interest in IT, AV, or hardware • Detail-oriented and thorough in all tasks • A logical problem solver with a proactive attitude • Able to manage time and work to deadlines • A clear communicator, both verbally and in writing • Comfortable working across departments and supporting teams Essential Skills & Experience • Basic knowledge of PC/Android hardware and software • Familiarity with tools and basic DIY skills • Competent in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace • Ability to work safely in a hands-on environment Desirable (Training Provided) • Experience in a technical or AV-related role • Exposure to digital signage or interactive displays • Experience delivering training to end-users Benefits • Up to £27,000 depending on experience • 22 days’ annual leave public holidays • Additional gifted Christmas shutdown leave (non-contractual) • Flexible working hours policy • Pension scheme • Employee Assistance Programme, including: o Group Life Insurance (death in service) o 24/7 remote GP access o Mental health support o Healthy habits app with voucher rewards This is a brilliant opportunity for a tech-enthusiast looking to kick-start their career in an exciting and ever-evolving industry.
