The successful candidate will join the Fire Safety Team and will work on ensuring fire safety compliance across the Trust. They will primarily focus on fire risk assessments, fire training, and day-to-day fire safety issues.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide fire safety training to LTHT staff, including face-to-face, Teams-based, and scenario-based training.
2. Support the fire risk assessment program and manage significant findings.
3. Produce and update fire evacuation plans.
4. Deal with reactive fire safety issues.
5. Work closely with the Estates and Capital Projects Teams.

Job Description
Responsibilities include:
* Providing professional advice on fire safety issues and managing fire precautions backlog.
* Ensuring risk assessments are current and reviewed regularly, especially after structural changes.
* Developing and maintaining evacuation procedures for all areas.
* Organising fire safety training and ensuring staff are aware of legislation and updates.
* Collaborating with external bodies, including fire brigades, and maintaining fire safety records and reports.
* Managing fire safety policies, equipment, and compliance with standards.
* Overseeing fire safety documentation, including drawings, risk assessments, and incident reports.
* Managing budgets, producing reports, and participating in fire safety committees.
* Leading on fire safety in new building projects and ongoing maintenance.
* Participating in on-call fire response and ensuring timely communication with management.
Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential):
* A relevant science or engineering qualification. Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers.
* Training in Building Regulations updates.
Desirable:
* Chartered Engineer.
Experience (Essential):
* Risk assessment, evacuation techniques, fire legislation, fire prevention, and safety knowledge.
Desirable:
* Healthcare fire safety experience, fire modelling knowledge, understanding of the Regulatory Reform Order.
Skills & Behaviours (Essential):
* Effective team work, communication skills, problem-solving, attention to detail, adaptability, and persistence in fire safety management.
