Description
Our Christchurch shop, part of a network of over 50 charity shops across England and Wales, is situated within a vibrant community rich in history, welcoming both locals and tourists. We are seeking a Cover Supervisor to lead and motivate our team on a flexible basis, creating a warm and welcoming shopping environment for visitors and donors alike.
About the Role
Our shop is a lively hub in the community, supported by generous donations. Every purchase helps fund our vital work caring for over 40,000 animals annually through rehoming, veterinary, and education programs. The shop offers a variety of donated items such as clothing, books, toys, household goods, and soft furnishings, along with some new products.
As a Standby Shop Assistant, you will provide essential support to our in-store team, ensuring smooth shop operations. Your duties include customer service, stock management, and general shop tasks. The shop operates Monday to Saturday, 09:00 to 17:00.
This is a zero-hours role with hours varying based on shop needs. We pay the Real Living Wage of £12.21 per hour, with a total hourly rate of £13.69 including holiday pay. You will work alongside a dedicated team of staff and volunteers in a flexible, impactful role.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has retail experience
* Is proficient in cash handling and reconciliation
* Has supervisory experience
* Enjoys working with customers
* Is computer literate and organized
It would also be beneficial if you have experience managing volunteers.
