EDGE INNOVATE is currently recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to join our busy Paint Shop. The Paint Shop Supervisor will be responsible for managing the Paint Shop facility to maintain a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Delivery: Daily supervision of a team of paint shop operatives, providing guidance on operations such as blasting, prepping, painting, and repairs. Coaching and mentoring staff to develop skills. Estimating painting times, oven usage, staffing, and related costs to maximize efficiency. Developing and improving manufacturing methods while ensuring health, safety, and quality standards are met. Planning workspace utilization. Conducting quality checks before and after jobs. Minimizing re-work. Servicing the Fitting Shop and meeting production targets. Reporting progress to the Production Manager. Liaising with management regarding capabilities and schedules. Monitoring performance to improve efficiencies. Streamlining purchasing to reduce costs.
2. Performance Improvement: Applying the company's performance management system, supporting staff in setting KPIs, and fostering professional development. Ensuring high standards and addressing performance issues effectively.
3. Financial and Resource Management: Ensuring the Paint Shop operates efficiently and within financial targets. Seeking innovative solutions for service improvements.
4. People Management: Providing leadership to ensure high-quality service, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement. Conducting regular staff performance reviews, guiding personal development, and participating in recruitment and disciplinary actions.
5. General Management: Promoting equality, diversity, and safety in line with company policies. Ensuring health and safety compliance. Upholding core values and organizational objectives. Performing other duties as required, with flexibility for company needs.
Person Specification:
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Degree-level qualification with 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a similar industry; hands-on painting experience with heavy machinery.
Desirable: Experience managing a Paint Shop and advising stakeholders; management/leadership qualifications.
Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal skills; analytical, problem-solving abilities; organizational and planning skills; proficiency in MS Office. Ability to work flexible hours.
