Based in north London, Industrial Dwellings Society (IDS), was established in 1885 by Jewish philanthropists to address overcrowding in the East End and has evolved into a dedicated housing association managing 1,500 homes across multiple London boroughs.
They are now seeking an experienced, hands-on Director of Operations and Investment who combines strategic vision with operational credibility.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the role will provide strategic leadership across housing operations, repairs, compliance, asset management, contract management and resident services.
The role will also lead the development and delivery of IDS’s investment priorities, including regeneration, decarbonisation, heritage assets, capital programmes and disposals.
As a relatively small organisation, IDS offers a unique environment where individual contributions have a visible impact, and strategic ideas can quickly become action. They are ambitious about improving services, investing in homes, strengthening their culture and ensuring that residents are at the heart of every decision, and the new Director will have an important role to play in achieving these aims.
