The Regional EHS Manager facilitates compliance with health and safety. Ensures our business adheres to safety regulations and performs necessary reporting. Operations currently include four anaerobic digestion plants managed internally, and oversight of three further sites managed externally. This position ensures the group is compliant and works closely with the Operations and Development teams. This position will assist in preparing us to meet future compliance needs as we grow.

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Drive the Safety culture by acting as an ambassador for Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental programs and in accordance with the Company vision and values.
* Coordinate, implement and administer all required quality, safety, health, and environmental programs to ensure health, safety and environmental compliance in accordance with legislation and internal policies.
* Works with the site leadership team to review incident investigations, determine root cause and recommend and/or implement corrective actions.
* Maintains awareness and advises management concerning future regulatory changes and requirements with assistance.
* Coach employees, supervisors and management on Workplace Safety, Policy and Procedures, best practices and principles.
* Coordinate the collection of EHSQ performance metrics and prepare reports as required.
* Coordinates employee health surveillance evaluations as required by company polices, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and legal requirements.
* Assist in maintaining the Production System (EHMS) and related programs to support compliance. Develop and implement E, Q,H&S programs in consultation with all departments and EHS team
* Perform, participate, and support health & safety and environmental audits and corrective action.

Required Skills & Abilities:

* Excellent computer skills, proficiency in Office Suite (especially MS Excel and Word)
* Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills
* Excellent written and verbal skills
* Excellent data management skills
* Strong process-improvement, organization, and project management skills
* Independent thinker, ability to work alone with minimal supervision
* Creative problem-solver and troubleshooter

Education & Experience:

* Bachelor's degree/diploma in science or related discipline
* Demonstrable experience in the practical application of health, safety and environmental (HSE) principles in a Health and Safety Manager or similar safety-lead role (typically 3–5 years)
* Comprehensive knowledge of UK safety regulations and compliance requirements
* Preferred NEBOSH, or CMIOSH (with a strong preference for candidates holding a NEBOSH Diploma; however, those with a NEBOSH General Certificate will also be considered)
* Experience in anaerobic digestion, wastewater, or manufacturing industries is highly desirable.
* Previous COMAH site experience.
* Knowledge of ISO management systems.
* Experience of industrial hygiene principles and HSE auditing (internal, external, or ISO)

Travel Requirements:

The role requires a mix of local and longer distance travel, averaging 10-12 days per month (approximately 50-65% away from main office, this includes two sites which are located close to the main office), with the remaining time based in the office in the Northeast. We offer full reimbursement for all business travel, including flights, train fares, hire cars, and business mileage when using your own vehicle. While a company car is not provided, our travel policy ensures you are never out of pocket, subject to the Company Expense Policy.
