Join to apply for the Dean of Screen School role at DAY & NIGHT DRIVERS LTD. London College of Communication (UAL) invites an experienced academic leader to shape the future of London College of Communication's (LCC) Screen School.
The Screen School is renowned for its collaborative, inter-disciplinary approach to creative education, spanning film and television, animation, sound arts, games design, visual effects, and virtual reality. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, management and development of research and knowledge exchange activities and infrastructure, guiding the School through a period of growth and innovation.
You will help deliver LCC’s strategic vision, “Creative Communication Transforms the World”, embedding this vision across the Screen School and fostering a culture of excellence in teaching, research and knowledge exchange. The role includes leading change and supporting the College’s move to a new state‑of‑the‑art vertical campus at Elephant and Castle in 2027. As a key member of the College Executive Board, you will guide the development of a high-quality, inclusive, industry-informed curriculum and position the School as a global leader in its subject areas.
Your role
You will shape and implement strategy for the Screen School, oversee leadership, and drive outcomes in teaching, research and knowledge exchange to meet national and international expectations in screen-related education.
You will collaborate with colleagues to ensure the School’s programmes remain innovative, industry-informed and inclusive, and you will help navigate the College through its upcoming campus transition.
Your profile
We are looking for a skilled practitioner widely recognised as a leading authority in their field, with substantial public or professional recognition. You will demonstrate understanding of academic provision, trends and issues in higher education, with insight into evolving screen-related courses. A substantial track record in teaching, research or professional practice within a relevant discipline is essential, along with excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills. You will apply innovative approaches to leadership of academic programmes, devising creative solutions to complex challenges that drive strategic impact.
