We at Synnovis are looking for a Band 3 Administrator to join our expanding Virology team. This role sits within Synnovis Infection Sciences team at Blackfriars Hub, offering a specialist service to a wide range of complex patients. The desired Band 3 Administrator we are seeking to join Virology will be a quick learner, team player and always looking to develop their current administrative and people skills, whilst keeping our patients and fellow colleagues (clinical and non-clinical) in mind during providing our Infection Sciences diagnostic service.
This role will be based at our state-of-the-art Blackfriars Hub, where you will be predominately office based within a patient and colleague focused role.
This role focuses on managing urgent requests in collaboration with senior Biomedical Scientists, ensuring that inquiries from trust users and clinicians are handled efficiently within designated timelines. Responsibilities include coordinating routine administrative tasks, maintaining accurate records, uploading and transcribing results, assisting with scheduling and procurement, and providing support to team members as needed. The Administrator plays a key role in enhancing laboratory efficiency by streamlining administrative processes and fostering effective communication across teams. Please note: this is an administrative position and does not involve technical, hands-on work within the laboratory.
The role requires regular interaction with laboratory staff and involves frequent movement between offices and laboratory areas across multiple floors.
This role supports the day-to-day running administratively of the Virology offices, within the Infection Sciences department. You will hold a variety of responsibilities to ensure the successful delivery of Infection services, in line with our corporate objectives.
The Successful Postholder Will Help With The Day-to-day Running Of The Virology Office. You Will Hold a Variety Of Accountabilities. These May Include, But Are Not Limited To
Provide administrative support to the Virology Operations which include answering the telephone, writing minutes, organising meetings, uploading reference laboratory results and other essential documents.
Maintenance of the office protocols relevant to the section
Implementation of the Departmental Health and Safety procedures, within the office area
Responsibility for new staff in respect of office procedures.
Liaise with the medical and technical staff on all clerical matters.
