We are in search of a Management Accountant to become an integral part of our team, dedicated to crafting accurate and punctual management reports, and providing valuable analysis and support to key stakeholders. This pivotal role entails essential duties in accounting and tax compliance, including overseeing VAT filings and collaborating closely with our external auditors. Journal Management:
~ Accurately post and review monthly journal entries, ensuring they reflect the company's financial activities precisely.
Balance Sheet Reconciliation:
~ Conduct thorough reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, meticulously overseeing prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, and payroll to ensure financial integrity.
Revenue Reconciliation:
~ Partner with the Finance Team to reconcile and account for various revenue streams, aligning them accurately within the financial period.
Management Reporting:
~ Craft and deliver comprehensive monthly management accounts, providing critical financial insights to the Finance management team and essential stakeholders.
Aid the Financial Leadership team in conducting detailed month-end variance analyses, identifying and explaining key financial deviations.
Tax Compliance:

~ Coordinate the preparation of necessary data for corporate tax and R&D tax credit calculations, liaising with external advisors to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Ad Hoc Responsibilities:

Holder of ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar qualifications.

There an increasingly urgent global and UK focus on the climate emergency, electrification and green energy solutions, with interrelated issues coming to the fore such as decarbonisation, green infrastructure provision and clean air. The ban on new petrol/diesel car sales comes in from 2030 and despite growing consumer interest levels (over 900,000 electric / hybrid vehicles are already on the road) the public charging infrastructure remains inadequate.
The good news is that this represents a 30% year on year increase, though this lags somewhat behind the 38% annual growth in sales of battery electric cars during the year to November (Source: Zap Map).
