About us
Julias House supports more than 140 families across Dorset and Wiltshire, in the community, at our hospices and in the families’ own homes. You will be based at our Dorset Hospice and our Wimborne Care Office and work across Dorset in the homes of the children we look after. Flexibility is required to cover days, evenings, weekends, school holidays and occasional overnights. There are no set hours for contracted staff; our care is provided at the times requested by our families and is therefore variable. Rotas are prepared 6 weeks in advance. This role is a 35 hours per week permanent contract.
Job responsibilities
As part of the Nursing Team, working in line with Julias House policies and procedures, provide family centred respite care both in the Hospice and Community for children who have life limiting and life threatening conditions. When necessary, provide a flexible and responsive approach to support the requirements of end‑of‑life care. Role model Julias House Values and Behaviours at all times.
Qualifications
* Registered Sick Children’s Nurse or Registered Nurse (Child Branch) Diploma or Degree or -Registered Learning Disability Nurse or -RGN or -RN Adult
* Counselling training and/or care of the dying and bereaved course or experience ENB 998 or equivalent teaching and assessing course
