The Public Health Programme Manager will be a senior member of the Public Health Team, providing strong leadership and advocacy for health and wellbeing across Stoke on Trent.

You will support the development and implementation of services, programmes and projects on reducing inequalities and improving the quality of life across the city.


Children, Families and Community Division:

Team 1 leads on Infant, Children and Young People statutory services - 0-19 Health Visiting and School Nursing, National Child measurement Programme, Oral Health, CYP Mental Health, Resilience and Wellbeing, Women’s Health Domestic Abuse, Research.

Team 2 leads on Health Inequalities - building wider understanding of Health Inequalities and Wider/ Commercial determinants of health. Implementation of key approaches to address, Equity and Inequalities such as HEAT, HiAP and supporting/leading Community Development.


Key Responsibilities:

* Strategic planning and development
* Creating and implementing evidence based public health strategies to address local needs and reduce inequalities
* Programme Management delivery – design, planning, execution and reporting
* Managing financial resources connected to Statutory Public Health 0-19 Health Visiting and School Nursing Service
* Monitoring and evaluation – monitoring performance and indicators to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of programmes
* Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership – build relationships with partners across sectors (Council, NHS, ICB, Voluntary sector)
* Data Analysis and Evidence Generation – utilising data (qualitative and quantitative) and research to identify needs and inform quality decision making
* Policy and Quality Assurance – ensuring that Health Visiting and School Nursing 0-19 service / Public Health interventions align with current legislation and quality standards


About You:

* Minimum 5 years experience in Public Health Programme Management, strategic leadership and communication
* Strong skills in strategic planning, budget management, and data analysis, particularly interpreting data to measure programme outcomes
* Experience and skilled in commissioning Infant, Children and Young People services to improve outcomes and managing stakeholder partnerships across organisational boundaries to drive partnership based initiatives
* Proficient in developing, implementing and evaluating large-scale public health programmes
* Experience leading and motivating teams some of whom may be outside direct management authority
* Skilled in Public Health approach to quality improvement, risk management, monitoring and evaluation of programmes
