The role
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to help expand an increasingly important asset management department within our business.
Responsibilities
* Managing forestry and woodland plantations from planning, planting, and restock sites
* Supporting with the application of grant and other support packages
* Contractor supervision (planting, weeding, fertilising, beating up, etc.), timber harvesting contracting and oversight
* Acting as principal asset manager of client's forestry properties throughout England
* Expanding the asset management base over time to create recurring fee income driven by excellent client service
* Assisting (or being) the Registered Valuer with forestry valuations and property portfolios, including site work, valuation preparation, and draft presentation
* Identifying investment opportunities for forest/planting land acquisitions and presenting investment recommendations to clients
* Supporting and developing additional forest management client work
* Communicating clearly and confidently with clients as required
* Delivering afforestation projects through to harvesting contracts and reporting appropriately
* Preparing annual budgets, presenting recommendations, delivering the budget on behalf of clients, and advising on forest manager selection

Qualifications & Experience
* Experience providing forest and asset management for clients
* Understanding of developing carbon and natural capital markets
* Ability to build relationships with clients and generate opportunities
* Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
* Ability to analyze forest data, produce valuations, and cash flows
* Excellent communication skills and confidence in client and team interactions
* Understanding of confidentiality and discretion
Qualifications
* Ideally member of or working towards membership of ICF
Experience
* Minimum of 3-5 years in the forest industry/land management
* Positive attitude and enthusiasm
* Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* Interest in the rural economy and countryside
