An established and growing accountancy practice in the North East is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its team based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to manage a varied portfolio of clients while playing a key role in mentoring junior staff and supporting business growth.
The Role
You will work closely with a diverse range of small and medium-sized businesses, delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparation and review of statutory year-end accounts
2. Managing Corporation Tax, VAT, and Self-Assessment compliance
3. Producing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
4. Providing financial analysis and business performance insights
5. Supporting client decision-making through clear financial reporting
6. Mentoring and reviewing work of junior team members
7. Contributing to internal process improvements
About You
8. ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified (or finalist)
9. Previous experience within an accountancy practice preferred
10. Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations
11. Confident in client-facing environments
12. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
13. Experience with accounting software
14. Highly organised with strong analytical skills
15. Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
