Alex Begg is looking for a Manufacturing & Costing Accountant. The role will support senior management by providing financial insights to help improve operational efficiency and profitability. Their key focus will be on product costing support and reviewing manufacturing performance for the commercial and production teams, as well as preparing periodic reporting across the 2 production sites. Core Duties & Responsibilities Daily monitoring of ERP transactions/balances for exceptions & errors Contribute to production of periodic management accounts and related commentaries at both Ayr and Hawick sites Calculation of standard costs for Ayr operations and products Contribute to standard cost calculations & inventory valuations for Hawick operations and products Calculation of estimated costs and sales pricing in support of sales team Analysis of operational financial performance and variances Undertake stock control at both manufacturing sites Calculation and monitoring of stock provisions Work to optimise financial controls/performance Contribute to the New Product Development Process from a financial perspective Prepare business cases for capital expenditure proposals Contribute to preparation of budgets and forecasts Support for other members of the Finance team Other ad hoc projects and duties as required Knowledge, Skills and Experience Flexible and accomplished individual with strong people skills and ability to manage multiple tasks Experience in a manufacturing environment Experience of modern ERP systems A committed and tenacious approach to improvement of business processes and performance Ability to communicate and operate effectively at all levels of the business High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to multi-task and to prioritise appropriately Creative thinker with excellent problem solving and analytical abilities Confidence and strong interpersonal skills, especially when interfacing with senior management and non-finance business partners Energy, drive, tenacity, professionalism and commitment Flexible approach to working hours in line with the needs of the business Qualifications/Education Qualified CIMA/ACCA or qualified by experience For full details of the role please contact our retained advisors, Ally Deas and Christopher.
