Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans for GOV.UK digital services.
Identify key testing objectives and ensure coverage of user requirements across different environments.
2. Functional & Non-Functional Testing
Conduct functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Perform non-functional testing, including performance, security, and usability testing.
3. Automation & Test Framework Development
Design and implement test automation frameworks using industry best practices.
Automate API testing using tools such asPostman, RestAssured, or equivalent.
Integrate automated tests intoCI/CD pipelinesfor continuous testing and deployment.
Identify, document, and track defects usingtest management tools(Azure DevOps, JIRA).
Work closely with development teams to resolve issues effectively.
Produce detailed test reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Work inAgile environments(Scrum/Kanban), contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives.
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business analysts to define test strategies.
Provide guidance and mentor junior testers in automation best practices.
6. Compliance with GOV.UK & DDAT Standards
FollowGOV.UK service design principlesandDDAT frameworksfor testing government applications.
Ensure all tests align withsecurity and compliance regulations.
Technical Skills & Experience
6+ yearsof experience in test automation and software quality assurance.
Hands-on experience in automation testing frameworks such as:
RestAssured (BDD), Postman(API testing)
Experiencebuilding test automation frameworks from scratch.
Strong understanding ofmicroservices architectureand its testing challenges.
Familiarity withCI/CD toolssuch as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
Experience inSQL and relational database testing.
