Permanent Teaching Assistant

Location: Hertfordshire (Hertford area)
Salary: £20,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 34 hours per week (term-time only)

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join the team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll have the chance to make a real difference every day, helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop key life skills.

You’ll work alongside teachers and other support staff to ensure every pupil is supported in a safe, structured, and engaging environment. We’ve partnered with this school for over 5 years, making many fantastic placements and helping the school grow — now we’re looking for the next great addition to the team!

Key Responsibilities

* Support pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis in line with individual learning plans

* Assist teachers with engaging and differentiated lessons

* Encourage communication, independence, and positive behaviour

* Support pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs, and daily routines

* Provide personal care support where required (training provided)

* Assist with classroom preparation and maintaining an organised learning space

* Record observations and share feedback with teaching staff

* Support pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and school activities

* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
