An amazing specialist primary and secondary school in Loughborough is looking for a passionate, dedicated, and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time, long-term position where you’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
About the Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you’ll be working closely with students, teachers, and other staff to provide both 1:1 and group support. You’ll help deliver tailored interventions, adapt learning materials, and ensure every child has the best opportunity to succeed.
Responsibilities:
* Supporting students with a range of SEND (including autism, ADHD, and SEMH) across both primary and secondary settings
* Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering differentiated lessons
* Providing one-to-one and small group support inside and outside of the classroom
* Helping students develop socially, emotionally, and academically
* Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records
* Working collaboratively with the wider school team, parents, and external professionals
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with special educational needs (in a school or care-based setting)
* A genuine passion for supporting learners with additional needs
* Strong communication skills and a positive, patient attitude
* Ability to build strong, nurturing relationships with pupils
* A DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
