Role: Mechanical Design Engineer
Term: Permanent
My client provides bespoke products and engineering solutions for manufacturing. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Wolverhampton on a permanent basis.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
* Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or similar
* At least 2 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation role
* Experience in a manufacturing environment
* Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, etc.
* Knowledge of materials like timber, sheet metal, plastics, etc.
* Strong theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge and understanding of tight tolerances
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Good organizational and time management skills
* Ability to work independently and within a small multidisciplinary team
Role responsibilities include:
* Designing concepts and producing technical drawings using CAD
* Liaising with manufacturing providers
* Involvement in final product assembly
* Creating documentation, reports, and project plans
* Updating 3D models and drawings
* Inputting parts into the MRP system and creating BOMs
* Checking drawings for approval
* Collaborating within a small team on various projects
