Job Description

The successful candidate requires knowledge of statistics and languages that include Python and SQL as well experience with platforms such as Snowflake. The individual will have a wide range of responsibilities including building and owning data models, leading requirements gathering, solution design and validation of outputs. Primarily we are looking for someone highly skilled in programming, manipulating data bases, creating robust processes, and implementing statistical models to unlock the potential in our data.
An ideal candidate would be based near Teddington (UK), London (UK) or Bury (UK)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Collection and Management - Ensure data accuracy and integrity by overseeing data collection methods, warehousing, and pre-processing.
2. Advanced Analytics: Apply statistical methods to analyse and interpret data. Develop, implement and optimise machine learning models to support internal projects.
3. Automate Data Processes: Develop automated data pipelines and workflows to streamline data processes and analyses.
4. Data Visualisations: Create clear and informative visualisations to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
5. Collaboration: Work with domain experts, data analysts, product and commercial teams to understand business needs and deliver data science solutions.
6. Documentation: Document methodologies, code, and findings to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
7. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a commercial data scientist role with a focus area on drawing out intelligence, trends and key themes from diverse data sets.
8. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset to contribute to business objectives.
9. Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
10. Understanding of life science concepts and familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities in marketing life science products.
11. A degree or equivalent qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Marketing Analytics, or a related field
Knowledge and technical skills
12. Science / Life Science background preferred.
13. Expertise in data mining, machine learning, statistical modelling relevant to sales and marketing.
14. Experience in SQL, writing sophisticated queries and stored procedures, ideally within Snowflake.
15. Proficiency in Python and hands on experience using relevant Python libraries for retrieving and transforming data.
16. Experience working with relevant Python ML libraries: NumPy and SciPy, Scikit-learn.
17. ETL, ELT of data from multiple sources and formats into final data store, ideally using DBT.
18. Visualisation and dashboard creation skills (preferably in Tableau).
