Coventry - UK-wide role
(Candidates must be able to commute to the Coventry office every Wednesday)
* 09:00 – 17:00, Monday to Friday
* £35,000 – £40,000 basic (depending on experience)
* OTE £12,000 commission uncapped.
Introduction
We are working with a expanding and well-established training and education provider that delivers funded training, apprenticeships and Learning & Development solutions to organisations across the UK.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to support the national expansion of their Training and L&D portfolio.
This role is suited to a commercially driven professional with experience selling services rather than products, who enjoys mapping markets, building networks and developing trusted client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Map target sectors, regions and employer profiles across the UK to identify and develop new business opportunities
* Proactively network with employers, partners and key stakeholders to build a strong and sustainable sales pipeline
* Build and maintain strong rapport with decision-makers, positioning the business as a trusted Learning & Development partner
* Introduce employers to funded training, apprenticeships and L&D services, clearly communicating value and commercial benefit
* Promote new and existing services using the most effective communication channels for each audience
* Manage and develop client accounts, identifying opportunities for repeat business and long-term partnerships
* Undertake partnership development activity, collaborating with external organisations to support growth objectives
* Work closely with internal delivery, compliance and operational teams to ensure a seamless client experience
* Represent the business professionally, in line with company values, policies and commercial strategy
* Contribute to the achievement of individual and team revenue targets aligned with wider business growth plans
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience in business development, recruitment, or service-based sales (B2B)
* Demonstrable ability to map markets, network effectively and build strong client rapport
* Experience selling services or solutions, not physical products
* Strong communication and influencing skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
* Self-motivated and results-driven, comfortable working autonomously within a hybrid model
* Willing and able to attend the Coventry office on a weekly basis (Wednesdays)
* Full UK driving licence preferred
