Job summary
An interesting and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and proactive individual to join our healthcare team at HMP Hull. The team includes a wide range of experienced, skilled professionals such as nurses, paramedics, clinical support workers, pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, physiotherapists, administration support workers, and more.
You will be part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team, using your skills, experience, and knowledge to help define and deliver care to individuals with often complex needs. You will provide excellent care to service users and support colleagues in developing the service.
Main duties of the job
1. Assisting with medication administration
2. Leading clinical support worker clinics such as NHS Health checks, Phlebotomy, ECG, and QOF related reviews
3. Supporting registered nurses in delivering emergency care, as well as assessing and reviewing patients
4. Blood borne virus and sexual health screening
5. First and second night initial reception screening
6. Health promotion
7. Substance Misuse support

Job description
Job responsibilities
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
* Experience working with individuals with complex health needs, knowledge of primary care, mental health, and addiction support, with the ability to work across these areas under supervision. Knowledge of nursing procedures and practices.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Problem-solving skills, effective interpersonal skills, adaptability, resilience, and a positive attitude.
Desirable criteria
* Experience with mental health services or caring for someone who has accessed such services
* Knowledge of working within a prison environment
* Experience in multi-disciplinary team settings, A&E, wound care, phlebotomy, ECG, and managing long-term conditions
