We are Anthemion Senior Living, LLC, operating a new State-of-The-Art 54-unit Memory Care Assisted Living Community in Norwell, MA, called The Cordwainer. As the first of its kind in Norwell, MA, specifically for the memory impaired, we are seeking an experienced and creative Chef to join our family. This role reports to the Culinary Director and requires a dynamic leader who loves working with seniors and promoting their best life. A good sense of humor and a positive, enthusiastic attitude are essential. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a passion for culinary arts.
Responsibilities
* Review menus prior to cooking
* Coordinate with staff to ensure correct diets are served
* Learn and understand diet profiles of residents
* Manage food dating and storage
* Assist in outside activities and events
* Maintain temperature logs for all food served
* Develop, print, and distribute daily menus
* Participate in daily or scheduled duties and food production planning with the Culinary Director
* Attend in-services, training, and meetings to improve knowledge and performance
* Share responsibility for additional cook coverage if needed
* Perform all functions safely and hazard-free
* Build professional relationships with family members
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent; culinary degree preferred
* At least 2 years of strong culinary experience, preferably in senior living or hospitality
* Serve Safe Certification
* Strong understanding of cooking methods, procedures, and knife skills
* Excellent organizational skills
* Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia
* Team player with a passion for working with seniors
Physical requirements include walking and standing for 90% of the shift and lifting up to 40 lbs.
