About The Role
Within the Vehicle Mounted Cranes and Lifting Platforms division, you will support a wide variety of unique and high‑quality projects for customers such as Ford, VW, BT, Severn Trent and Network Rail. The role is not limited to vehicle mounted equipment; flexibility within the team is required.
Duties
* Produce innovative design solutions to meet customer requirements.
* Develop designs using Autodesk Inventor and produce manufacturing‑suitable drawings, including machining and fabrication drawings.
* Ensure due regard to legislation and British Standards.
* Liaise with the client on designs.
* Fully cost designs and produce a bill of materials.
* Troubleshoot production problems.
* Produce system layouts and module assemblies.
* Work alongside the production team to ensure successful delivery.
* Produce operation and service manuals.
Candidate Requirements
* Formal Mechanical Engineering qualification.
* Good working knowledge of 3D CAD packages, ideally Autodesk Inventor.
* Interest and knowledge of machinery and fabrication design.
* Basic understanding of electrical control circuit design would be an advantage.
* Fully proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Experience offering project support in terms of collating and presenting documentation.
* Willingness to learn new skills and expand existing knowledge.
* Good verbal, visual and written communication skills.
* Prepared to be flexible on working hours to meet deadlines.
* Full driving licence that permits you to drive in the UK.
