Your day starts by helping students settle into a calm, organised routine before supporting them throughout lessons with focused guidance. You’ll help reinforce classwork, break tasks into manageable steps, and encourage students as they navigate new challenges. Throughout the day, you’ll work closely with the class teacher to keep learning on track, build confidence, and maintain positive behaviour and engagement. No two days are the same, but each one is filled with teamwork, variety, and the satisfaction of helping students grow. Can you? Adapt and tailor support strategies to help students stay engaged, confident, and ready to learn. Communicate clearly and positively with students, parents, and staff to build strong relationships and ensure consistent support across the classroom. Encourage positive learning habits and resilience, helping students develop confidence and celebrate their achievements. Assist in delivering engaging, accessible activities that make learning enjoyable, meaningful, and inclusive for all pupils. Monitor student progress closely, celebrating successes and noting where additional guidance or reinforcement may be helpful. What you’ll bring: Has previous experience working with children and genuinely enjoys supporting their learning and development. Builds safe, trusting relationships with pupils, helping them feel comfortable, motivated, and ready to engage in lessons. Works collaboratively with teachers and support staff, sharing ideas and contributing to a positive, supportive team environment. Observes student needs carefully and responds with sensitivity, knowing when to step back to promote independence and when to offer reassurance. Shows willingness to learn and grow, demonstrating openness to training, feedback, and developing strong classroom support skills.
