Sales Manager – Sprinkler Projects
As the sales manager for sprinkler projects within in our Sales & Estimating Department, you will manage the sprinkler projects estimating team as outlined below. This role is specific to mechanical sprinkler projects and will involve estimating and selling fixed fire fighting systems for a range of markets within the UK & Europe.
Responsibilities
1. Responsible to the Head of Sales & Estimating.
2. Manage sales/estimating engineers for mechanical sprinkler projects.
3. Responsible for reviewing estimates and keeping estimating tools up to date.
4. Manage the workload for sprinkler projects enquiries.
5. Provide regularly updated hot prospects list to track sales and inform budgets for the sprinkler projects income stream.
6. Ensuring process and quality procedures are followed.
7. Review tender documents including drawings, design standards, specifications, and client requirements.
8. Key account management and business development.
9. Liaising with clients & attending meetings to discuss projects.
10. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
11. Where required, survey and obtain key information to inform estimates.
12. Support final negotiations.
13. Contacting suppliers to obtain project specific costs.
14. Utilise computer aided design software to develop blueprints and preliminary design to inform the estimate.
15. Utilise in house calculation software to develop a fixed estimate.
16. Develop a detailed proposal document complete with associated deliverables where applicable.
17. Monitor and progress submitted quotations to obtain client feedback, negotiate & prepare win/loss KPIs and lessons learnt.
18. Regular Dialogue with other departments across the business including, but not limited to, projects, commercial and design.
19. Internal handover meetings upon project award.
Essential Skills
20. Strong technical understanding of international fire protection related standards including LPC / BSEN, BS, BS, BS, FM & NFPA Systems.
21. Experience in people management.
22. Strong organisational skills with ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
23. Can demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and efficiency.
24. Proven IT skills with experience of MS office packages.
25. Friendly and outgoing personality with the natural ability to engage with customers/clients representing Argus Fire professionally and positively.
26. Willingness to travel throughout the UK & overseas.
27. Strong commercial awareness. Construction contract experience beneficial.
28. Willingness to learn and develop.
