About the role
As the Residential Children's Home Manager you will have overall responsibility for day-to-day management of the Home, including:
1. Efficient management of the house budget
2. Overseeing the development of staff and the young people in placement
3. Formulating and updating placement plans
4. Risk assessments and positive handling plans
5. Ensuring Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to
6. Monitoring of a monthly Health and Safety Audit
7. Delivering high-quality service provision incorporating care, welfare, safety and security of all children and young people in your care
Key Responsibilities
8. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the home to ensure the highest standards of care, safety, and wellbeing
9. Provide strong leadership and supervision to staff, including induction, appraisals, rota planning, and reflective practice
10. Ensure full compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations, Care Standards Act, and Ofsted expectations
11. Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, fostering a strong safeguarding culture within the home
12. Lead on quality assurance, including monitoring, audits, and preparation for Ofsted inspections
13. Manage relationships with external professionals including social workers, families, health and education providers
14. Maintain accurate records and submit notifications to Ofsted and other bodies as required
15. Ensure policies, procedures and the Statement of Purpose are up to date and implemented in practice
16. Support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes through personalised, therapeutic care
Package
For the role of Residential Children's Home Manager you will work minimum of 37.5 hours per week and there is on offer:
17. A salary of £60,000 per annum (including £1,500 on call allowance based on experience salary)

About you
To be successful for the role of Residential Children's Home Manager, the essential skills and attributes you you must have are:
24. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent or willing to work towards within required timeframe)
25. Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a residential childcare setting within the last 5 years’ experience
26. Minimum 1 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role in a children’s home
27. Strong understanding of relevant legislation, safeguarding, and inspection frameworks
28. Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
29. Commitment to trauma-informed and child-focused practice (preferably experience in using PACE)
30. Preferably experience using Non-Violent Resistance
31. Ability to meet Ofsted’s “fit person” requirements for registration
32. Full UK driving licence and enhanced DBS check
