Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Finance as Interim Finance Manager you will oversee Head Office Cost Management operations. This role involves managing a small team, focusing on various cost aspects including overall head office cost analysis and invoicing to and from divested businesses, setting up regular reporting mechanisms, and collaborating closely with department heads and budget holders. This will include: Leading a small team of staff, ensuring efficient workflow and performance excellence.Overseeing invoicing processes, specifically pertaining to transactions with divested businesses, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual obligations.Head Office Cost Analysis. Conducting comprehensive analysis of head office costs, identifying areas for optimisation and cost-saving opportunities.Establishing regular reporting structures to provide timely and accurate updates on head office expenses, facilitating informed decision-making by senior management.You will partner with department heads and budget holders to understand their financial needs, provide insights, and support budgeting and forecasting processes.You will serve as the primary point of contact for auditors, coordinating audit activities, providing necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.You will also continuously review financial processes and procedures, identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements to enhance effectiveness and internal controls. Introducing organisational structure and best practices within the finance team to promote efficiency, accountability, and alignment with company objectives.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a fully qualified accountant, with experience in a large and complex organisation, as Finance Manager / Finance Business Partner. Previous experience of accounting for head office / overhead costs would be an advantage, as would experience of leading a small team of finance staff. You will be highly IT literate and have excellent communication and stakeholder partnering skills. You will be available to start immediately and be happy to commit to a contract of at least six months.
