Qualified Social Worker, Child in Care Team, Suffolk Council Pay rate to £42 per hour Contract role Vitalis are recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to work in a Child in Care team in Suffolk Council. We need to recruit a locum consultant social worker for our Ipswich North and East & Coastal Child in Care (CIC) team, based in Ipswich. Previous experience in a CIC team, including care proceedings, and in supervising social workers are essential requirements. Details as per following: Consultant Social Worker - Children in Care £42ph Hybrid / Expectations to work from the office 3 days / week Beacon House, White House Rd, Ipswich IP1 5PB Consultant Social Worker for children in care proceedings and children who are in long term care or for whom permanent alternative care planning is progressing. The CSW supports the manager in ensuring good management oversight, excellent supervision and support for the social workers in the team to discharge their duties. In addition, the CSW will also need to provide flexible support in terms of case management and direct work, as the need may be, holding a small caseload if needed and stepping in to support with complex tasks that may require an urgent response. A summary of the role of the social workers in the team includes the following tasks: Undertaking direct work with children in care, ascertaining their lived experience and their wishes and feelings; undertaking life story work and producing life story books. Write, review and amend children’s care plans, taking into consideration their identified needs. Writing reports for Children in Care reviews and for Court as part of care proceedings. Working in partnership with the child’s carers / parents / family network and a variety of other professionals as part of care planning, including the child’s IRO, Guardian, Health and Education etc. Don’t forget, if this role isn’t the perfect fit, we’re confident we can find one that is.
