Senior Fellow in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and ITU

Contract type: Fixed term (3 months) – Training contract focused on structured clinical development and education.
Job Responsibilities
* Provide anaesthesia and intensive care for patients undergoing cardiac surgery.
* Deliver anaesthesia for patients undergoing thoracic surgery.
* Provide anaesthesia for cardiology procedures such as ablations, TAVI and MTEER.
* Contribute to service delivery while participating in a competency‑based teaching programme.
* Integrate within a multidisciplinary team, supporting both day‑to‑day and out‑of‑hours patient care.
Aim and Context
This post is for a senior clinical fellow who has completed 3 years training in general anaesthesia and ITU in the UK. Candidates should have passed FRCA or equivalent and be keen to develop skills in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and ITU, completing the required competencies as part of the Portfolio Pathway application.

Qualifications, Training & Experience
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
* GMC registration with a licence to practise.
* Final FRCA or equivalent.
* Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in anaesthesia and intensive care in the UK.
* Interest in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and intensive care.
* Teaching and audit/quality improvement experience.
* Research interest is desirable.

Salary will be paid at the nodal pay point for Trust‑appointed fellows, with additional remuneration for nights, weekends and enhanced duty hours.
