Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
We are delighted to be offering a permanent 0.6 wte position for an enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our small and friendly children's team within Powys Teaching Health Board. You will work as part of the team of therapists, assistants and multi‑disciplinary colleagues to support a diverse caseload which may include Early Years, Special schools, and core mainstream services.

Main duties of the job
You will work within the children's Speech and Language Therapy team providing assessment, diagnosis and intervention/management of children. You will have the opportunity to work in a range of clinical areas supporting children who have a range of speech, language, swallowing and communication needs across settings. You will be supported by a team of Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapists and have the opportunity to be part of shaping and developing the service as well as providing supervision to junior colleagues.
The post holder will be well supported and have opportunities for regular formal and informal supervision and will be encouraged to take part in wider clinical interest groups. We have regular supervision sessions and have a strong ethos on supporting staff to develop alongside the trusts appraisal system.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications/Knowledge
* Recognised qualification/ degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* Registered with Health and Care Professions Council
* Working knowledge of range of assessment tools and appropriate therapeutic interventions for relevant client group
* Able to demonstrate continuing professional development e.g., up to date, relevant CPD portfolio
* Evidence of attendance on relevant specialist short courses
* Awareness of principles of clinical governance and audit
* Awareness of relevant national policies and procedures
Experience
* Evidence of clinical experience across relevant client group
* Experience of delegation to non-registered staff
* Involvement in clinical audit
* Experience of providing clinical supervision
* Experience of service development/improvement
* Contribution to Student training/placements
* Evidence of teaching/delivering clinical education within post in area of specialism
* Experience in research
