Overview
In this role, you will design, build and test secure Java-based web services that interrogate and manipulate multiple data sources, delivering correlated information to front-end applications. You will work within a SAFe Agile framework, contributing to iterative delivery across structured sprints, taking ownership of your work while collaborating closely with other developers, testers and stakeholders in a fast-moving environment. You will be encouraged to think creatively, adapt to changing requirements, and continuously improve solution quality. With strong team support around you, you'll help ensure reliable delivery across development and, where required, production support activities.

* Support & maintain systems across the delivery lifecycle
Qualifications
You should be an experienced Java developer with a strong background in building and testing RESTful services, comfortable working in secure, delivery-focused environments. You will bring a pragmatic mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly while maintaining high engineering standards.
* Strong experience developing and automated testing of Java services
* Recent hands‑on experience building RESTful APIs
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills
* Sole UK nationality with active SC Clearance (no unrestricted travel permits)
* Willingness to work full‑time from CGI's Leatherhead office (5 days per week)
* Front‑end development exposure (e.g. React with Jest)
* JUnit and integration testing tools such as ReadyAPI
* Git for source‑code management
* REST APIs using OpenAPI and JSON
* SQL and PL/SQL scripting against Oracle databases
* CI/CD tooling such as GitLab Runner or Jenkins
* Selenium for front‑end integration testing (nice to have)
* Understanding of SOAP services and Oracle SOA (nice to have)
* Experience supporting production environments and release activities (nice to have)

Compensation & Benefits
£65,878 per year – competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare and a share scheme. We also offer a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This role is five days a week working in the Leatherhead Office.
