Responsibilities
* Develop processes and systems to support the medicines commissioning agenda, resource and financial planning for the introduction of new drugs within the Integrated Care System (ICS) and for the appropriate and cost‑effective use of high‑cost drugs.
* Ensure accurate data collation and communication to Contracts and commissioners to secure appropriate financial reimbursement for tariff‑excluded medicines.
* Act on all Patient Access Schemes for high‑cost medicines, identifying eligible patients and securing discounts.
* Collaborate with clinical teams to deliver therapeutic switch schemes, such as the introduction of biosimilars, in a timely manner.
* Propose and implement medicines savings initiatives.
* Lead and manage a team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants to achieve the medicines commissioning agenda.
* Collaborate with the Integrated Care System for financial and resource planning for new medicines.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience with medicines commissioning, including reimbursable medicines and Patient Access Schemes.
* Proven ability to collaborate with and influence senior stakeholders such as IC S leads, clinicians, Contracts and Commissioning Managers.
* Experience managing a team, providing strategic leadership, mentoring and developing staff.
* Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to deliver against key targets and objectives.
