We’re recruiting for a Pre-Sales Underwriter to join us. We’re offering a competitive base salary.
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and making a real impact in the protection insurance space? At Legal & General, we’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Pre-sale Underwriter to join our Retail Protection team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with advisers, underwriters, and business development managers to provide accurate and timely underwriting support.
What you'll be doing:
* Communicating professionally with advisers, internal teams and third parties to ensure customer satisfaction
* Providing accurate pre-application underwriting terms and guidance
* Maintaining strong product knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements
* Supporting sales through effective questioning and lead generation
* Managing time efficiently to balance business needs and personal development
* Challenging existing practices to improve service and customer outcomes
* Recording and sharing market intelligence using Salesforce
* Upholding Treating Customers Fairly principles throughout the customer journey
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
* Understanding of insurance products and policy conditions
* Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in following underwriting flows
* Excellent listening and telephony skills
* Confidence in financial calculations to support underwriting decisions
* Experience in pre-sale underwriting or similar customer-facing roles
* Ability to work under pressure and meet service level agreements
* Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to improvement
