Overview
Senior Fire Design Engineer - London at Jacobs. Shape the future of fire safety and the places we live, work, and build. You will lead major fire engineering projects across the UK and internationally, mentoring junior team members and strengthening client relationships through trusted insight and strategic thinking.
Responsibilities
* Lead the development of fire safety strategies that enhance building performance and safeguard lives.
* Influence how buildings perform, how communities are protected, and how the industry evolves.
* Manage projects from supporting quotations to delivering technical analyses, reports, drawings, specifications, and documentation.
* Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of the next generation of fire safety experts.
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and technical leadership.
Qualifications
* A Degree or Masters in Fire Engineering, or equivalent, and proven experience; ideally Chartered or Incorporated Fire Engineer through the IFE.
* Strong technical knowledge with a track record of obtaining agreement for prescriptive and performance-based design solutions from approving authorities and key stakeholders.
* Experience with site inspections, audits, fire risk assessments; good working knowledge of UK, ROI, NFPA, IBC/IFC Codes.
* Experience in computational modelling of evacuation, fire growth, and smoke movement; CFD modelling beneficial.
* Structural fire engineering experience is highly beneficial.
