A quick look at the role Keenan Recycling Ltd part of the Biffa Group As Depot Driver Supervisor, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of your appointed depot. You will ensure that drivers keep trucks clean and well looked after, whilst checking that maintenance work is being carried out in line with O Licence undertakings. You will manage drivers’ hours, coach and debrief infringements daily and work towards reducing these. Your core responsibilities Manage daily and weekly operational tasks, including run schedules, driver card/VU downloads, and supervisor spot-checks. Lead daily infringement debriefs, ensuring incident forms are completed and returned within 24 hours. Ensure accurate and timely submission of driver timesheets; conduct weekly toolbox talks and follow up on driver feedback. Oversee stock control, ordering depot supplies, PPE, and maintaining monthly reports on liners and caddies. Support driver team through onboarding, initial and remedial training, return-to-work interviews, and performance management. Provide operational support by covering driving duties during staff absence and assisting with collections/deliveries as needed. Collaborate with the Transport Operations Manager to optimize routing and service delivery. Build strong customer relationships by resolving collection issues and ensuring depot cleanliness and readiness. Requirements Our essential requirements Fully qualified Class C driver with valid Digital Tachograph and Driver CPC (DQCPC) card. Strong understanding of logistics operations, including route planning, driver hours, tachograph rules, and O Licence undertakings. Proven experience in staff management and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. Resilient and adaptable, with excellent customer service skills and the ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments.
