Sopra Steria are recruiting a Strategic Control Room Operator to join our Network Traffic Information Services project, responsible for monitoring the National Highway strategics road network, providing information in response to live events and delivering accurate, up-to-date traffic information to provide a crucial public service. Our team provide a dedicated 24/7 service and operate on a rotating shift pattern six on and four off. This includes a variety of shifts to support a great work-life balance, made up of two early shifts (06:00 14:30), two late shifts (13:30 23:00) and two night shifts (21:00 06:30). Car commuters will find Quinton Business Park easily accessible as it is situated close to the M5, but with the varied start times and remote location of the office, its advised that only applicants with their own mode of transport should apply. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with proven customer service and data entry skills and a keen eye for detail, to make a meaningful impact to society. What you'll be doing: Analysing and assessing the information received about live incidents occurring on the UK road networks. Creating and monitoring these events on the National Traffic Information Service (NTIS) system. Supporting with the setting of Variable Message Signs across the Strategic Road Network. Working closely with a network of colleagues and third parties to keep them up to date with your latest reports about each incident. What youll bring: A background in customer service, with a focus on administration, data entry or telephony experience. Confident communication skills, both verbal and written, that you can adapt depending on your audience. The ability to effectively manage your time and work within critical timelines. A methodical way of working with a passion for getting things right first time and taking pride in the accuracy of your work.
