Associate Quantity Surveyor (Temporary – AMP8 Infrastructure Framework)
Location: Lancaster / North West UK (site travel possible)
Duration: 6–12 months (with potential extension)
Reporting to: Senior QS / Commercial Manager
The Role
You will be embedded within the commercial team delivering the AMP8 programme for a major utility / infrastructure client. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Assist in the commercial management of civil/utility infrastructure projects under the AMP8 framework (for example water/wastewater network upgrades).
2. Prepare and maintain monthly cost/value reports (CVRs), cash-flow forecasts and cost reconciliations.
3. Produce interim valuations and final account submissions.
4. Manage subcontractor procurement, subcontract orders, change control, variation quantification and cost tracking.
5. Interpret and administer contract forms (NEC3/NEC4 preferred) and ensure compliance with contractual procedures.
6. Liaise with project delivery teams, client stakeholders and supply chain to monitor progress, cost risk and commercial value.
7. Support the senior QS in maintaining contemporaneous records of costs, claims, variations and entitlement maximisation.
8. Assist with risk management, budget updates and highlight early warnings of cost/contract exposure.
