Our Engineering team plays a critical role developing and refining the GEEIQ data platform that helps and empowers our clients—from major brands to emerging players in various industries— to navigate the complexities of the metaverse.

Your Focus
As a DevOps Engineer at GEEIQ, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between development and operations within our fast-growing SaaS data analytics platform.
Specialising in a tech stack that includes AWS, Kubernetes, NodeJS, Python, MySQL, and MongoDB, this role involves a wide array of responsibilities from system administration and automation to ensuring high availability, performance, and efficient deployment processes.
We are seeking a skilled and passionate DevOps Engineer with a robust background in software development and system operations. The ideal candidate will excel in automation, CI/CD pipelines, and managing large-scale data projects, and demonstrate strong skills in mentoring and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
* CI/CD Pipeline and Automation
o Develop and maintain the CI/CD pipeline using tools and practices that enhance automation and scalability.
o Automate deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications using Kubernetes.
* Cloud and Infrastructure Management
o Manage and optimise AWS cloud infrastructure for high availability and fault tolerance.
o Implement and maintain cloud-based solutions and microservices architecture.
o Terraform infrastructure as code to ensure consistent and reliable environment setups across development, testing, and production stages.
* Monitoring and Performance Optimization
o Set up and maintain monitoring solutions that can preemptively detect and resolve issues.
o Ensure performance optimization by continuously assessing and tuning the system.
* Collaboration and Support
o Work closely with the development teams to ensure operational requirements are considered and met.
o Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
o Enforce best practice guidelines within the engineering process and team to upskill the engineering team and ensure compliance with industry standards, resulting in more robust and secure systems.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Education - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience
o 2 + years of proven experience in an DevOpsengineering role
o Proven experience in managing and scaling cloud-based infrastructures, particularly with services like AWS.
o Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
o Solid background in CI/CD pipeline creation and management using tools like GitHub Actions.
o Experience in containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
o Practical knowledge of scripting and automation with languages such as Python or Helm.
o Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana or ELK stack and an understanding of logging, monitoring, and alerting best practices.
o Capable of troubleshooting and optimising system performance in a distributed environment.
o Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to understanding and managing infrastructure complexities.
o Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, mentoring junior engineers and interfacing effectively with cross-functional teams.
