A leading private investment firm, specialising in European asset-backed opportunities, is seeking an experienced Vice President, Asset Management (Construction) to join its London team. This is a full-time, permanent, FCA-regulated position, reporting directly to the Director.
The firm focuses on providing private capital solutions across real estate, infrastructure, hard assets, and financial asset markets, with a strong track record in small to mid-cap opportunities across Europe. Managing several billion dollars of discretionary capital on behalf of global institutional investors, the firm has a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture with offices across key European cities.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in the oversight and management of complex construction assets and loans, ensuring effective risk management throughout the investment lifecycle. Responsibilities include:

o Overseeing day-to-day management of construction projects and related investments.
o Supporting investment teams in the review of new opportunities.
o Monitoring and assessing development progress alongside the asset management team.
o Evaluating suitability of counterparties, contractors, and professional teams.
o Reviewing construction costs and programmes for new deals.
o Managing external construction and design teams.
o Coordinating technical due diligence with external monitoring surveyors.
o Reviewing and challenging monthly monitoring surveyor reports.
o Supporting the due diligence process to ensure efficiency and compliance.
o Tracking and reporting on construction cost and programme changes.
o Conducting regular site visits and liaising with sponsors, contractors, and consultants.
o Identifying discrepancies in budgets, reports, and project delivery, recommending and implementing solutions.
o Contributing to re-underwriting budgets with relevant benchmarking and market data.
Skills & Experience

o RICS-qualified Chartered Surveyor (Quantity Surveying or Building Surveying background).
o Extensive experience in real estate development, construction, or asset management.
o Proven track record of managing projects in the UK and Ireland.
o Strong analytical, risk management, and reporting skills.
o Highly diligent, hands-on, and process-driven approach.
o Excellent planning, organisational, negotiation, and communication skills.
o English fluency; additional European languages advantageous.
