Overview
Van Pack Drainage Engineer – Beckton STW, North London Region (Ilford, East London). Permanent, full-time. Hours: 4 Days On 4 Days Off (40.25 hours weekly average). Salary: OTE £37,000 per annum (basic pay, overtime, on call allowance and bonuses). We are seeking customer-focused individuals to join our Utility Division, working on the Thames Water contract to deliver practical solutions to wastewater network and drainage problems.
Responsibilities
* Travel to residential sites in a van, operate a high-pressure water jet for restoration, and service drainage systems
* Record each job accurately on the specialist equipment provided
* Run diagnostics and repairs on drains
* Deliver excellent customer service
* Maintain good health and safety practices while carrying out works
* Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished
* Comply with health and safety responsibilities (PPE, safe site setups)
* Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms
* Work unsupervised in all weather conditions, wear correct PPE and use lone worker systems
* Conduct dynamic risk assessments of site access and working conditions on arrival
* Liaise with clients regarding process and updates
* Provide support to colleagues
* Inspect tools, equipment and plant before and after use; report defects or malfunctions
* Carry out risk assessments with a mature approach to risk perception
* Follow all Lanes Group policies and responsibilities
* Perform any other reasonable ad-hoc tasks or projects as requested by management
About You
The ideal candidate will be hardworking and compliant with health and safety standards. Experience with high pressure jetting is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA, Confined Spaces) are advantageous. A full UK driver’s licence is required as vehicles are manual.
